We have an incredible team of artisans in Ghana who we meet with every day. Our partnership with these artisans is particularly important to us - each piece designed for Chika & Co. is crafted with love and care. Our pieces are not mass made, they are items that you and your family can truly treasure and eventually can be handed down as antiques.

Our artisans have passed down their craft from generation to generation. The harvesting of the rattan, cane and willow is done by hand, using no machines in the process. The rattan is then heated gently before it is then shaped or/and weaved. The artisans train for years and have a lifelong  dedication to their work. We work closely with our artisans to design modern furnishings using ancient African techniques.

Our mission is to provide a consistent economic opportunity for Ghanaian artisans in order to help break the cycle of poverty.
